Lent is well underway, but it is not too late to get a study group going during this time leading up to Easter. If you have read the GEO Principle already on your own, I encourage you to pull together a few friends or work colleagues and meet weekly to go through the book.
The 115-page book is divided into 22 short chapters, so if you had 22 weeks you could easily cover one chapter per week. But Lent is only six weeks, so let me suggest breaking up the book as follow to get through it between now and Easter:
Week 1 -– Discuss the purpose of work, based on material from chapters one through four.
Week 2 –- Discuss ways to bring your faith to work, based on material from chapters five through eight.
Week 3 –- Discuss the numerous clues we get from scripture about how to conduct ourselves at work. Consider the GEO Principle’s chapter nine.
Week 4 –- Discuss the way things change –- including work and your relationship with God -- over the course of a lifespan. Consider material from chapters 12 through 16.
Week 5 –- Discuss the Sabbath. There is a lot of good material to consider from chapters 17 through 19.
Week 6 –- Conclude your group discussion with a look at retirement. Chapters 20 through the conclusion can be your guide.
Discussion will make many of the concepts in the book come alive. Your own thoughts will help others to see new insights into their faith.
